ARMY Owing to the drop in line voltage upon closing theoperating switch it is necessary to secure a uniformfilament current by inserting a booster in the primarycircuits of the two transformers. This is merely a smalltransformer which by carrying the main transformer pri-mary current adds enough voltage to the filament trans-former primary to compensate for the drop of voltage inthe line. The transformers and electrical apparatus may be con-veniently assembled in a case which also serves to pro-tect them in transportation. The table knocks down.and the whole outfit may be very quickly set up or takendown. The tube is carried beneath the table as in theusual trochoscope. Operation. After setting up the outfit check over the connectionsby comparison with the diagram furnished with themachine.
