s College Hospital. Therooms are marked according to the use they are put to. When a separatebuilding is available, it can be specially planned to meet the requirements ofthe institution. Should it be necessary to plan an X-ray department, great care shouldbe paid to the arrangements of the radiographic room. The lighting of thisroom should be carefully planned. A large window means that trouble willarise when it is necessary to darken the room, consequently the smallestpossible window space must be allowed. The radiographic room must belarge. It should have in close proximity to it a waiting-room, one or moredressing-rooms, and a preparation-room where patients may be anaesthetisedor an opaque enema administered prior to taking the patient to the radio-graphic room. This room should have an adequate supply of hot and coldwater and other conveniences. These additional rooms should open intothe radiographic room. Doorways should be wide enough to allow of thepassage of a large trolley.
