KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. - In the Space Station Processing Facility, STS-116 Pilot William Oefelein gets instruction on work to be done installing the port integrated truss structure, P5, on the International Space Station. The crew is taking part in a Crew Equipment Interface Test that enables them to become familiar with the equipment and payloads they will be using. STS-116 will be mission No. 20 to the International Space Station and construction flight 12A.1. Students from high schools around the United States busily prepare their robots for the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Southeast Regional competition March 9-11 at the KSC Visitor Complex. In the front is a team called Lightning, from Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School in Miami, Fla. Teams of high school students are testing the limits of their imagination using robots they have designed, with the support of business and engineering professionals and corporate sponsors, to compete in a technological battle against other schools' robots. Of the 30 high school teams competing at KSC, 16 are Florida teams co-sponsored by NASA and KSC contractors. Local high schools participating are Astronaut, Bayside, Cocoa Beach, Eau Gallie, Melbourne, Melbourne Central Catholic, Palm Bay, Rockledge, Satellite, and Titusville KSC00pp0317

The engagement skill trainer (EST) 2000 is an indoor, multi-purpose, multi-lane, small arms, crew-served, and individual anti-tank simulator that saves ammunition resources and travel time and cost to and from ranges. The system simulates weapons training events that lead to live fire individual or crew weapon qualification. The TSC Ansbach is responsible for the home-station training support mission for all Soldiers assigned to U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach.
