Desert Tarantula - free images of spiders
Summary
If you are lucky enough to see a tarantula (most commonly during the months of August and September), you can be nearly certain that it is a male wandering the desert in search of a mate. The females rarely travel more than a few feet from their burrows and, as a result, are seldom seen.
