Aviation in Britain Before the First World War
The Wright Biplane owned by C S Rolls which he donated to the army. (Rolls was one half of the pair that owned the Rolls Royce motor company and was also the first British aviator to be killed in an air accident on July 6 1910 at an aero meeting in Bournemouth, the crash was witnessed by Cody who was a good friend of Rolls). Photograph identical to RAE-O 617 aprt from the lack of annotation.
