As already stated the various problems relating to the lay-out ofa large telephone central office equipment must be solved with re-gard to the conditions of each individual case. As it is impossibleto discuss in the space available all of the factors in such a problem,this chapter will conclude with a brief description of two moderncentral office equipments which are thought to represent present goodengineering practice. In Fig. 488 is shown a view of the Plaza central office buildingof the New York Telephone Company, this office having been putinto commission about two years ago.
