On ^Monday, May 9, 1921, in the Auditorium of the CosmosClub, Washington, D. C, a very interesting event occurred whenMr. Henry S. Wellcome presented to Dr. Frederick B. Power a goldmedal in recognition of his services as Director of the WellcomeResearch Laboratories for a period of nearly twenty years prior to1914. Dr. David Fairchild opened the meeting by reading letters fromthe following gentlemen, expressing regret for their inability to at-tend the presentation: Dr. Thomas B. Osborne, of New Haven.Conn.; Prof. Marston T. Bogert, of Columbia University, Xew YorkCity; Prof. Charles Baskerville. of the College of the City of XewYork; Prof. W. A.
