It may be made at any point from the glans penis to the attachment of the corpus cavernosum to the ischium, but if possible in front of the preputial ring. After the penis has been drawn out, and the preputial re- gion carefully cleansed and disinfected, an assistant grasps the organ just behind the preputial ring and holds it firmly. A catheter is then introduced into the urethra and pushed upward beyond the point where it is designed to amputate
