The Therapeutic Tube Stand.—Any simple stand will suffice fortherapeutic work, but it must have good mechanical movements. One ofthe best is made by Gaif!e of Paris. The tube may be adjusted readilyto any angle, and the movements are as perfect as mechanical ingenuity canmake them. The only drawback to the stand is that only half of the tube isenclosed, and the lead glass is frequently not thick enough to ensure completeprotection. The stand should have a number of extension tubes of varioussizes, and should have also a tripod applicator for ringworm treatment. 276 RADIATION THERAPEUTICS The under aspect of the tube box should have a slot mto which the filters caneasily be placed, and a complete set of filters should go with each stand.The aluminium filters should range from ^ up to 3 mm. in thickness.
