It has been called the emanation, and is itself radio-active. Radium emanation can be collected, transferred, and generallymanipulated like any other gas, and the apparatus for this purpose is shownin Figs. 221 and 222. The most convenient way of liberating emanation from a radium salt 334 RADIATION THERAPEUTICS is to dissolve it in water strongly acidulated with hydrochloric acid.
