Symptoms and Diag^nosis.—An irregular and intermitting pulse withCheyne-Stokes respiration and slight elevation of temperature are amongstthe early symptoms of tliis disease. The pupils show irregularity; not in-frequently one pupil will be dilated, while the other may be a pin-point.

Vomiting is an early symptom in many cases, and may continue in spite ofrigid supervision of the diet, so that an organic lesion will be suspected.The vomiting is usually projectile in character.
